Well, if I'm gonna make a consistent effort to be active on DA, I might as well use the journals. *lol*

Anywho, the Street Fighter 4 pics are coming along okay. Thanks to some tidbits of info found on the net, I have a better grasp of how the designs should come out. But that's another story for another time.

Soon, I'll have the first volume of my character designs for my RPG done and ready to showcase. Fated Edge: Sourceworks should be a blast. I'll have information on the characters as well as design notes and sketches, voice actor listings and commentary... the whole magilla!

Well, it's official. For those of you who've kept an eye on the homepage for the great KOF artist Falcoon, I've decided to take a quick cue from him.

Thanks to his redesigns of KOF characters for the KOF 02 Festival, I've decided to work up redesigns for various characters from another big gaming genre... the beat-em up.

So, I will be redesigning characters from Final Fight, Streets of Rage and others I can think of from the past that need a remake or next-gen game. Case in point, Double Dragon.

Well, that's the tentative plan.

So far, today has been bloody DYNAMITE! First off, my best friend Jonathan is taking me to dinner... Then, I find a subscription to DA as well as a birthday pic from my loving girlfriend... (Thank you so much, Brandis!) I'm almost afraid to see just how much better this day can get! *lol*

However, in true Hooligan fashion, I'll see it through to the 24th hour.

Well, it's as simple as this: Life's moving along at a steady pace. School's back in session and I'm back online. With greater access to a scanner, thanks to a good friend of mine, I should be able to get more pics scanned. Hell, even colored, since he has PhotoShop 7.

The "Great Reconstruction" project has ben put on hold for a while due to more important projects coming up, such as an upcoming Final Fantasy fanfic as well as continued work on "Fated Edge."

Anyways, here's to the start of a dynamite year, and to all my friends and fellow deviants, Happy 2K5!

Well, we're three weeks off from the big weekend. The same weekend which I've spent the past year planning for, in the midst of school and life in general. That's right, fellow Hooliganz! June 3-5, 2K5 in Dallas, TX...

There's been far too much going on for me to even BEGIN trying to sum up. Even if I cover what's happened between now and my last journal entry, once I get to the present... I'll be so bogged down typing that I'll wind up missing class, which is in 2 hours.

So, let's fast forward right to the present. I've had to take some time out to re-evaluate the way my life's been going. Frankly, even with the good parts... It's been shitty. Well, by my standards, anyway. Family's pissing me off, school's been a hassle, finding work is all but driving me insane, and to top it all off... Well, here I am. The Ace-man sleeps and in his place stands a revitalized and ready young fighter looking to carve a clear path through life, once again.

Lots of things have gone down over the past week or two. Plenty of soul-searching to be had and external drama to balance out the internal. Then, I come back to DA to find artists and artwork that's inspiring me to take up the pencil once again.

What's a guy to do but start rollin' forward again? I've got awesome j-rock thumping in my head and ideas and images burning deep within. So, with a bit of luck and access to a scanner, I'll be working to update my DA page with brand spanking n

Work, Life, and the "Business"

Okay, I'll admit it. 2K5 was a pretty shitty year. The first part of 2K6... not much better.

The only things keeping me sane: My job, my girlfriend, my artwork and my videogames.

The Job: Overnight stocking at Target. Great exercise, great opportunites, good-ass pay. $7.50 hourly? I have no problem with that.

The G/F: The last few months have had their ups and downs. More ups than downs. In fact, almost NO downs whatsoever.

The Art: I haven't given up on it. Not by a longshot. Newest projects: Street Spirits and The Shining Knuckles MP3 Gallery. More details later.

Ain't been much done since my previous deviations, and for good reason. I'm wrapped up in development on three of my flagship projects and deviations have been, well... put on hold.

This morning, when I hopped in the shower, I had a lot on my mind. Today, I leave for Long Beach and this weekend's Anime Expo. However, on top of that, I had a dream about someone important to me. The second dream about this person I've had in the past 3 days. It upsets me that this dream came from nowhere, compared to whenever I usually dream. (It involes the last thing on my mind before I fall asleep.) However, the fact that this occurred so soon means something important. Let me tell you a little story, everyone.

Wha's crackin' everybody? I hope everybody's enjoying the last bits of their summer vacation. I know I am. Right now, I'm reporting live from breezy Bellingham, Washington, where I'm currently in the midst of a week and a half long vacation. Me and my close friend, fellow Deviant JDWUnbound, have been kicking back and enjoying a gamer's/Hooligan's MARATHON. It's been a truly awesome and very positive experience.

Been a while, hasn't it, everyone? Mostly I've just been lurking and posting the rare comment amidst the multitude of faves I've made over the year. To all the atists who've thanked me for the faves, you are quite welcome.

Well, as of 2 days from now, the O'l San Bernardino Brawler will be making a ather big move. A 1200 mile move to the cool, coastal college town called Bellingham, Washington. While I'm there, I'll likely have access to my roommate's scanner and be able to start updating and posting Deviations! (insert collective shock and gasping)

The best thing I can say is that there's been plenty goin' on in the life of the Ace-man. Everything from moving into a new place to job-hunting to looking into schools... It's taken a toll on the time I spend doing any sort of artwork. That's not to say I've STOPPED. Oh, hell no! I just haven't been able to get anything submitted at all despite my desire to be more active here and on the net, in general. Of course, I still log on and fave pics that catch my eye and spark the imagination.

Artists block can be a reeeeeeeal pain, I tell ya. On the plus side, my big project is coming along slow but steady. I gotta say, though: Programming can be tough, at the beginning.

But, that's neither here or there, really. This journal is all about reconnecting with my dA friends in a more concrete fashion than just faving and the occasional comment. If my schedule eases up in the coming weeks, then I'll be free to submit and even start on a few commissions/art-trades/gift arts. So, here's to a wonderful Spring 2010.
